Op 8 oktober organiseert de P10 een lunchbijeenkomst in Brussel met als thema “Smart villages in rural areasâ€.
Smart villages, ‘slimme dorpen’, zijn gemeenschappen die hun sterke punten gebruiken om nieuwe mogelijkheden voor hun dorpen te ontwikkelen, ondanks de uitdagingen waar ze mee te maken hebben. Dit zijn uitdagingen als een teruglopende bevolking, een afname van het voorzieningenniveau of de energietransitie. De inwoners van deze dorpen werken samen om slimme oplossingen te bedenken voor deze uitdagingen en daarmee de gemeenschap te versterken.
Programma lunchbijeenkomst
Tijdens de bijeenkomst wordt dit thema toegelicht en kunnen voorbeelden worden uitgewisseld. Een van de sprekers tijdens de bijeenkomst is Europarlementariër Esther de Lange (CDA).

Smart villages in rural areas
On October 8th, P10, the Dutch network of rural municipalities, welcomes you to a lunch conference with interesting speeches and networking opportunities.
Smart Villages are rural communities that build on their strengths and assets, while also developing new opportunities. Over time, many rural areas have experienced a decline in the range of services available. Changing demographic structures, public sector cutbacks and the impact of climate change can stimulate local communities to step in and fill the gap. Discovering and implementing new solutions to address local challenges is therefore one of the key characteristics of Smart Villages.
